Dim sum noon time on a Wednesday. We got there around 1pm. I called the restaurant prior to going to the restaurant. The person I spoke with said dim sum ends at 3pm everyday. The last time I went there to ask for pricing, they said they do get a very large crowd on weekends. We went on a midweek and there were about 5 table when got there and few more tables after we got seated. Service was great. They do wheel carts for dim sum but one weird thing is that they will reheat the dim sum for you. The only thing I enjoy is the fried fish. The rest was mediocre. Shui Mai isn't chef made, it frozen bought from Chinese markets. You don't get to pick your flavor of tea. They just give whatever on the house. Charge $1 tea/person. $5-6 for basic dim sum and $7-10 for premium dim sum. It's not your typical dim sum like in the 626. But if you want your dim sum craving fix, come here.
Food: SO GOOD. My family loves to go to dim sum and I want to say that lots of times I feel food coma really hard and it's really heavy. but here??? I felt so good and energized afterwards. The food didn't feel heavy at all. Also I am an avid soy sauce user but I didn't even want to use any other condiments besides the hot mustard and chili oil which were perfect additions to the meal.
Service: Quick and efficient. As soon as we sat down everyone came quickly to serve us- for some this might be overwhelming but if you've been to dim sum it's kind of a normal. But once we got everything we wanted we were left to enjoy our meal with occasional stop ins to check in and make sure we were doing well and if we needed anything else. 10/10
Ambiance: I love that this space was large and useful for all size parties. The establishment is clean and well kept making this a great spot to eat at.
Overall I had a great experience as well as my family. I hope this place becomes more popular but i'm content with keeping it a little secret for a bit longer. If you're looking for a wonderful dim sum spot that makes you feel like you're having dim sum at home with family on a beautiful sunday then this is the spot to go to!
Classic dim sum spot that has been around for quite a while. It is one of the few dim sum cart places that my husband and I frequent in the Cerritos area. It's a good catchup spot for my friends and I too as they are good for accommodating larger parties. Good location closer to us for decent dim sum without the longer drive to OC. They have all the classic options you need - shiu mai, har gow, chicken feet, shrimp noodles, egg custard and more! Prices a little bit less steep than the order at the table options nearby like Lunasia and Sam Woo Cafe, but the individual pieces of food are smaller than the Lunasia ones. Service is hit or miss but we eventually get what we need.
No need to put your name on an electronic waitlist. No wait for a table. Excellent, fast service. Great dim sum! I like that they also had Thai iced teas & coconut juice offerings on demand. Will definitely be back.
